Shafer Vineyards produces varietals including Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Dessert Wine, Fume Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Mueller Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Sparkling Wines.
Miki, the tasting host and owner of Shafer Vineyards is very personable, hospitable and inviting, and they offer a huge selection of complimentary tastings - 19 selections on the day we visited. Although they don't offer tours or special events, they have a large room dedicated to Christmas ornaments. The most spectacular treasure at Shafer Vineyards besides Miki is the awesome picnic area, which provides a quintessential retreat nestled amongst the foothills of the Gales Creek Valley - a serine area, which provides extraordinary views (PH).
