DELTETTO Other Whites 2004
designation: Daivej
vineyard: N/A
region: Italy - Piedmont
review date:
2007-09-04

As the popularity of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc start to wane, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Torrontes and Arneis are continuing to win the attention of white wine drinkers everywhere. The 2004 Deltetto Arneis Daivej from the Roero DOC appellation is certainly one of those wines; it has appeal in flavor, style and culinary applications. The core of lemon and lavender aroma gives way to a palate of hazelnut and honeysuckle flavors with a slight citrus overtone. Bright, zippy and fun, this wine will entertain on its own and steps into the limelight like a star when paired with the appropriate food. Although Arneis is not considered age worthy, this 2004 is still holding strong and tastes like it will be good for a while to come (MDME).
