TAMAYO (CANA) Shiraz/Syrah 2002
designation: N/A
vineyard: Tamayo Family Vineyards
region: California - Central Coast
review date:
2007-09-16

The 2002 Tamayo Family Vineyards Syrah from the Contra Costa County is a ripe and polished wine filled with big jammy flavors of plum, figs and spicy peppercorns, integrated with Contra Costa County terroir and toasty oak. Well-balanced and largely structured, this is a massive Syrah that shows how well the Hermitage clone will do in that location. Many winemakers attempt to produce Syrah of this quality few achieve these results (MDME).
