Another winner arrives from Dona Paula. As the flavors of the '05 were just disappearing from my palate along comes the '06. After letting this wine settle down (it was a little green upon it’s arrival) the big smooth plush flavors exhibited a continuing trend for this winery to produce winners. The 2006 Dona Paula “Los Cardos” is a classic Malbec with jammy fruit, mocha and spice; pleasurable tannic finish in a young wine that will pair with almost anything. Lay it down for a couple of years and you will be rewarded for your patience (MDME).
