KEN WRIGHT CELLARS Pinot Noir 1998
designation: N/A
vineyard: Shea Vineyards
region: Oregon
review date:
2008-05-12

Ken Wright The balance of fruit and acidity in this 1998 Ken Wright Pinot is simply magnificent. It's a charming wine with flavors of black cherry and raspberry, which carry through from start to finish. Fun facts – Back in the early '90's Ken Wright sold grapes to Firesteed. I recall tasting a number of their wines and remember how great their Pinot's were back in the day. In '96, the Winespectator stated, "Firesteed - Best Value Oregon Wines". Since then, Firesteed started buying grapes from other sources, and their accolades have slipped. Drink now or hold through 2011. 360 case production. Release price, $35 ~Pamela Heiligenthal
