BOEGER Zinfandel 2006

Boeger

A serious wine worth contemplating, big and complex, representing the zinfandel varietal in a way that only a few producers can accomplish. The aroma of cedar is present with fresh vanilla bean and ripe plum. In the beginning of the tasting profile, there is an assault on all olfactory senses; texture, smell, and taste are all pleasantly under attack.

The dark berry core is swirled with a hint of licorice then comes the lingering spicy finish. Attaining a 15% alcohol level and still remaining balanced is another aspect of the talented winemaking skills of Greg and Justin Boeger. While consuming this wonderful zinfandel from Walker Ranch you realize this wine showcases the quality 25 years of experience can bring. With this product I would say Boeger has set the standard when it comes to Sierra Foothills Zinfandel. ~Marc Hinton
