Bodega Catena

A wonderful wine that outclasses anything I have tasted recently. It was like a well-aged Bordeaux even in its youth. With only four and a half years in the bottle, the wine came across as a very mature Cabernet. This wine is drinking very well, it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in two different locations with elevations of 3100 feet and 3700 feet.

Deep and complex aromas start with dark berry fruit and lean towards cedar and fresh cigar tobacco before a hit of herbaceous eucalyptus. Bringing a silky mouthfeel, the huge structured flavor profile shows a swirl of flavors starting with Marionberry and mint ending in a long luscious lingering finish. I look forward to reviewing more wines produced by this stylish winemaker "Jose Galante" from Mendoza, Argentina. ~Marc Hinton
