Albenia Canali Lambrusco

As hard as I tried not to like this wine, it was hard. The opening gave off great aromas before pouring then it hit the glass. Everything that could have turned me off in this wine was vividly appearing even though I liked the opening aromas.

The color was way too dark for something I was about to consume cold, way too fizzy for something that dark in color and my company was not going to like this wine. Have I ever mentioned how much I like to be wrong? I liked it, my guests liked, it even Pamie liked it (now if I could just get her to eat that LIFE cereal).

It was clean, refreshing and a great match for anything that benefits from a touch of sweetness balanced by a bit of acidity.

The fruitiness was undeniable - the finish cut through any cuisine we matched it up too including a spicy pizza with fennel sausage and hot peppers. You will also enjoy this one with Tiramisu. Go figure! ~Marc Hinton
