Punto Final Malbec

Punto Final's Malbec comes from vines more than 50 years old. The maturity of the vines and the concentration of the flavors in the wine are outstanding.

It is a very young wine right now and would benefit from a bit of cellaring. The juice is unfiltered and right after opening it could use a bit of breathing time. If you bypass this small suggestion, the astringency at first may put you off, but given a few minutes the

dark berry and leather aromas domination the palate it is soft and slightly tannic at the same time. The flavors spread out with spice box and fresh cigar tobacco mingled with chocolate blackberry nuances. The finish will also develop with a bit more time in the bottle. It's good now but will be great in 2010. ~Marc Hinton
