Altos de la hoya olivares monastrell

This Monastrell is what everyone is talking about when they say Spain is changing the way they make wines. Deeply hued and inky in color the wine is filling the air with floral aromas of violets tinged with turmeric.

On the palate this one brings the big flavors of blackberry swirled candied cherries. The wine finishes tight and focused. We thought this wine brought it at all levels and made a case for new world techniques at old world wineries.
