RIDGE Chardonnay 2007
designation: Santa Cruz Mountains Estate
vineyard: N/A
region: California - Other

Ridge Chardonnay

The Ridge Chardonnay is harvested from a cool climate region perched at an elevation of 1400' – 1900' feet in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Upon opening, the nose is a little shy with hints of stone and tropical fruit but the flavors hit all the high notes as one would expect from a California

winery producing exceptional Chardonnay. This wine is all about its round and opulent presence hitting you up with an incredibly long multi-layered finish of mineral and smoke with a dash of meyer lemon.

An interesting little tidbit is that Ridge produced their first chardonnay back in 1962 from 20-year-old vines. Ridge is famous for their Zinfandel, but their Chardonnay equally rocks. Drink now or hold through 2011. 4,000 case production ~Pamela Heiligenthal
